Fire can create, and fire can destroy. Perhaps no restaurateurs know this better than Brian Rush and Jenny LeBlanc, co-owners of the RiverFront since 1997.

Known for their perfectly flame-grilled steaks and Louisiana seafood dishes, the RiverFront lost its home on September 11, 2012 to fire. Since then, with the help of their restaurant family, they’ve been picking up the pieces and operating as a full-service restaurant complete with dining room and deck. The community has seen them rise from the ashes, and begin rebuilding what promises to be better than ever.

Just up the river in Abbeville, at 530 Park Avenue, the new restaurant has opened! Diners have two views of the Vermilion River, with both indoor and outdoor dining. Owners Brian and Jenny would like to welcome you into a contemporary, but warm lodge-like environment, complete with a fireplace in the bar area and high vaulted ceilings. Live outdoor music will continue to be a part of the RiverFront tradition, and there is talk of unique outdoor seating for sipping wine.

Menu-wise, the new restaurant continues serving all your Louisiana favorites, while also serving up new innovative menu items using tuna, alligator, filet mignon, and fresh caught Gulf fish. More select wine options are available, and the kitchen has brought back some RiverFront classics from “before the fire” – loyal fans will get excited to see seafood enchiladas once again.
